Chicago March October 27, 2007

Busses from all over Wisconsin traveled to Chicago for this peace march.  We met and rallied at Union Park, location of the Haymarket Square Tragedy of 1886.  We marched through beautiful old neighborhoods and through Chicago's financial district to Federal Plaza for another rally.  Seventeen people boarded a bus in Janesville that originated in Madison, Wisconsin and participated in this event.  Many thanks to Sue Nelson for coordinating this event along with the Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice www.wnpj.org.

Eyes Wide Open

Soldiers boots and civilian shoes bring attention to the tragic number of deaths caused by the Iraq War.  United States casualties approach 4,000.  Iraqi civilian deaths exceed 100,000.  Over two million Iraqis have fled the country because of the violence that has resulted from the war.  A reading of many names of people killed by the violence in Iraq was done as part of this presentation sponsored by the Rock Valley fellowship of reconciliation in November 2005.

Highway Signs

The Rock Valley-Fellowship of Reconciliation has erected "Stop the War Its Time for Peace" signs on Highway 26 North of Janesville and Highway 14 West of Janesville.
