Rock Valley Fellowship of Reconciliation 2010 Labor Day Parade Entry |
A dozen people from the Rock Valley Fellowship of Reconciliation participated in the Janesville Labor Day Parade. The theme of the float was "Celebrating Local Peace Heroes" and honored five organizations for their work to bring Justice and Peace to Rock County. Rock County has spent 504 Million dollars to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. That is a lot of cash that could be spent in our communities on schools, health, parks, and more. We received a lot of great responses for our parade unit--Especially for Neil's dove. Thanks to all who participated in bringing a greater awareness of peace issues to our area.

As always, the unit included a well decorated "float" proclaiming the title for this year's entry.
