Standing for Justice at the Capitol

 Saturday, January 7, 2012 -  4 PM

Basics Cooperative 1711 Lodge Drive, Janesville, WI

Presentation will be held in the Community Room - immediately to your left as you enter the store.

Speakers:  Bart Munger, Chris Reeder and Matt Rothschild.

Bart Munger, a citizen resister, was cited at the Capitol building in Madison, Wisconsin for wearing a sign that said, "I love Wisconsin."  Chris Reeder leads the daily Solidarity Sing in the Capitol Rotunda.  Matt Rothschild is the editor of The Progressive Magazine and was cited at the State Capitol for wearing a sign stating the 1st amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

The Rock Valley Fellowship of Reconciliation has long strived to work for peace, justice and freedom.  For this program, we will celebrate citizen activists who have been cited for a violation of the law for their nonviolent expressions at the Capitol in Madison.  Why would people who have never been involved in direct action choose to take risks that could affect their livelihood and respect in the community?  Come to this program to hear their compelling stories, ask questions or make comments on his issue.

Every Tuesday from 4:00 to 4:30 PM

Join us for a peace vigil outside Paul Ryan's constituent office, 20 S. Main Street, Janesville Wisconsin.

Iraq Moratorium

Every Third Friday of each month at 4 p.m.

Rock Valley-Fellowship of Reconciliation will gather on the corner of Blackbridge Road and Milton Avenue in Janesville, Wisconsin at 4 p.m. for a Iraq Moratorium vigil/rally. Our focus is Stop the War! We have signs but feel free to bring your own. Please keep in mind our focus and the fact that we are a nonprofit and are non partisan group. It is problematic to our nonprofit status to support or not support one candidate over another.

For more information contact Sue Nelson (E-mail link on home page) and visit the web site http://www.iraqmoratorium.org/ which deals with setting aside some time the third Friday of each month to do something to bring attention to the tragedy of the Iraq war.
